A reading from the Holy Gospel according to John.

“Yes, God so loved the world

as to give the Only Begotten One,

that whoever believes may not die

but have eternal life.

God did not send the Only Begotten

into the world to condemn the world,

but that through Christ the world may be saved.

Whoever believes in Christ avoids judgment,

but whoever does not believe is judged already

for not believing in the name

of God’s Only Begotten.”
