THIRTY-SECOND SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME — Year A

First Reading: Wisdom 6:12-16

A reading from the book of Wisdom.

Wisdom is radiant and unfading,

easily discerned by those who love her,
and found by those who seek her.

Quick to anticipate those who desire her,

Wisdom makes herself known to them.

Watch for her at dawn and you will not be disappointed,

you will find her waiting at your gates.

The very thought of Wisdom is understanding fully grown;

keep vigil for her sake

and you will soon be free of all care,

for Wisdom walks about seeking those who are worthy of her,

and graciously appears in their paths

and meets them in every thought.

The Word of God recorded in the book of Wisdom.

THIRTY-SECOND SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME — Year A

Responsorial Psalm: Psalm 63

R: My soul thirsts for You, 0 God.

O God, You are my God whom I seek;

for You my flesh pines and my soul thirsts
Like the earth, parched, lifeless and without water.

R: My soul thirsts for You, 0 God.

Thus have I gazed toward You in the sanctuary

to see Your power and Your glory.
For Your kindness is a greater good than life;

my lips will glorify You.

R: My soul thirsts for You, 0 God.

Thus will I bless You while I live;

lifting up my arms, I will call upon Your Name.
As with the riches of a banquet

will my soul be satisfied,

And with exultant lips

my mouth will praise You.

R: My soul thirsts for You, O God.

I will remember You upon my couch,

and through the night watches I will meditate on You:

That You are my help,

and in the shadow of Your wings I shout for joy.

R: My soul thirsts for You, O God.
