“There are as many ways to poetry as there are to God.” ~ Joy Harjo
When you read a poem, what is your experience? Is there a poem, poetry that you experience as
prayer—a way to slowing down; a way that enlivens your heart and imagination; a way back to yourself
and your place in the scheme of things; a way beyond yourself to the Divine, to Holy Mystery, to the
Oneness Known by Many Names? Carmen Lampe Zeitler will open a conversation about the experience
of poetry as prayer. We’ll read poetry (please bring any you would like to share) and consider together
how poetry and prayer connect.
