All proceeds from our First Sunday collection on November 1st will benefit Dorothy’s House, a safe place for the practice of life for those whose lives have been interrupted by human trafficking, exploitation, and trafficking. The First Sunday collection supports Dorothy’s House Pathways, a crisis services shelter program launched in January 2025. The goal is to get women out of immediate danger within 24 hours of first contact with Dorothy’s House, providing a place to sleep, food, clothing, and personal care items. Demand for services has increased, and Dorothy’s House has responded by expanding from a four-bed home to a ten-bed facility.
Each woman who needs Dorothy’s House services arrives with few, if any belongings. With the help of DMIEC’s contribution, a set of supplies pre-assembled by Dorothy’s House volunteers makes it easy for staff to easily select the clothing and personal care items she will need upon arrival.
Kellie Markey will join DMIEC’s November 1st Zoom service and stay afterwards for more in-depth conversation.
