Trinity Sunday Year A First Reading and Responsorial Psalm

TRINITY SUNDAY — Year A

First Reading: Exodus 34:4-6, 8-9

A reading from the book of Exodus.

Moses cut two stone tablets like the first, and early the next morning he went up Mount Sinai as Our God had commanded, taking along the two stone tablets.

Our God descended in a cloud and stood with Moses.  Thus the Most High passed before Moses and proclaimed, “I AM, I AM, a God of tenderness and compassion, slow to anger and rich in kindness and faithfulness.”  Moses at once bowed down to the ground in worship, saying, “If I have found favor with you, Our God, come along in our company.  This is indeed a stiff-necked people; yet pardon our wickedness and sins and receive us as your own.”

The Word of God recorded in the book of Exodus.
