It is a sensitive\, prayerful resource offered by the Episcopal Church that creates space for difficult but respectful dialogue – the kind dialogue we’ve engaged in at DMIEC. \nLast fall\, several members of DMIEC embarked on the 11-session Sacred Ground journey. Reaching the last session\, as the question of “what’s next?” emerged\, the group decided to share part of their journey with the DMIEC community. They will present Sacred Ground films on two Wednesday evenings during Lent. All are invited to come view these powerful documentary films followed by enriching dialogue. \nMARCH 26:  Whose Land? Exploring Indigenous History.  We will view the documentaries Doctrine of Discovery and Native Voices: Speaking to the Church and the World.

DESCRIPTION:DMIEC GROUP STUDY on COMPASSION \nMondays\, January 17\, 24\, 31 and February 7\, 14\, 21\, 3:00-4:15 p.m.\, via Zoom \nWednesdays\, January 19\, 26 and February 2\, 9\, 16\, 23\, 6:30-7:45 p.m.\, via Zoom \nAs a lead up to Lent\, Kevin Pokorny will offer a 6-week group study using Joyce Rupp’s book Boundless Compassion – Creating a Way of Life.  This is a personal transformation process for developing and deepening compassion in our lives\, our community\, and our world.  Joyce’s book is the foundation for her four-day Boundless Compassion retreat which Kevin has been through on two occasions.  He’s currently a member of the Boundless Compassion Core Team supporting Joyce’s compassion work with over 100 Boundless Compassion facilitators to bring compassion and self-compassion into our communities. \nThe group study will meet once a week for 6 weeks beginning the week of January 17.\nEach week is devoted to one topic of compassion.  You can participate in all 6 weeks or weeks that interest you.  There will be two group study sessions per week (see above). Participants\nwill need to purchase Joyce’s book at www.joycerupp.com  If interested\, please email Kevin at pokornyk@hotmail.com by Wednesday\, January 12. He’ll follow up with a more detailed description of the group study.
