In-person presence halted during the pandemic\, but after the prison reopened to Women at the Well\, interest surged for reentry teams across the state —including in Des Moines\, where Mealtime at Fresh Start Women’s Center has had an impact on women rejoining life. Women at the Well also offers training for volunteers to provide jail ministry and facilitates advocacy towards criminal justice reform\, mental health policy\, ending sexual violence\, and other public issues that affect women in prison. Reentry Coordinator Lucinda Gillam will join us during our March 2 Zoom service to talk about the expansion of support for women at the work release in Waterloo.
