Through evidence-based programs and services\, the Anawim staff addresses needs related to serious mental illness\, substance abuse\, physical disability\, HIV\, domestic abuse\, and unemployment. \nToday\, Anawim is the largest provider of Permanent Supportive Housing in Iowa (which serves individuals with disabilities)\, serving 240 households and almost 400 individuals. Unfortunately\, HUD grant funding has not kept pace with the rental market or utility increases.
