SUMMARY:First Sunday Collection - Emma Goldman Clinic (Women's Health Project\, Inc.)
DESCRIPTION:The Emma Goldman Clinic (EGC) is a not-for-profit independent organization founded in 1973 by a group of women driven by feminist ideals. We exist to empower people of all gender and sexual identities in all life stages through the provision of quality reproductive health care that includes abortion services\, gynecology services\, safer sex promotion\, and active education. We promote respectful\, client-centered and participatory health care through informed decision making\, client rights\, advocacy and expansion\, and support of pregnancy choices.\n\nWe strive to provide an environment in which diversity is acknowledged and celebrated. We are actively committed to staff diversity in employment policies and practices. We strive to increase economic\, geographic\, structural\, and language accessibility for the clients we serve through fundraising\, outreach\, and advocacy.\n\nWe offer non-judgmental\, quality health care services. Our goals are inspired by our belief in the larger ideals of feminist philosophy: political\, economic\, and social equality.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nYour support helps ensure access to inclusive health care for all – regardless of ability to pay by sustaining our operations and subsidizing fees for those living on lower incomes. SUMMARY:DMARC Emergency Food Pantries Sunday Special Collection
DESCRIPTION:Our DMIEC community works to address food insecurity issues in the Des Moines metro area via a special collection for the DMARC Emergency Food Pantries on the fourth Sunday of every month. \nOn November 3rd\, the Des Moines Area Religious Council (DMARC) Food Pantry Network assisted 2\,494 unique individuals – setting a single-day record for the most people assisted. This is the busiest day on record in the 50-year history of the network of Des Moines metro pantries and the start of an extremely challenging period for our neighbors living without support from SNAP. Of the people assisted yesterday\, 1 in 3 were currently enrolled in SNAP. Earlier this year\, DMARC recorded the four busiest months of its nearly 50-year history.  Nearly 29\,000 people used at least one of DMARC’s 14 pantries in January and over 79\,000 unique individuals have done so in fiscal year 2025.  Please see additional information on recent food pantries usage here. with a special update about the new SNAP situation. \nTo learn more\, please visit the DMARC Food Pantries website https://www.dmarcunited.org/food/  Read DMARC’s most recent quarterly newsletter here. To learn about DMARC’s new executive director\, click here. For the latest DMARC news\, click here.  \nHere are two ways to donate: \n\nVia special envelopes available at DMIEC on in-person fourth Sundays.
